ACTIVITIES:
The hostel is an ideal centre for relaxing and mellow activities. Within
a 5 mile radius the attractions include a Crannog & Visitors Centre,
a distillery, Cluny Gardens and Loch Tay as well as many pubs & restaurants. Highland
Perthshire is of course Big Tree Country. Why not come to experience
the stunning autumn colours whilst enjoying one of the many varied walks
nearby.
Outdoor Activities Available:
Aberfeldy is the Scottish Centre for Adventurous Activities. All
the local rivers are available for paddling all year round. And walking
summer and winter or even horse riding the local hills.
White Water -
Hostel is situated beside the River Tay which runs all year. Excellent
steep creeks, great dam controlled rivers and only 45 mins to the
awesome Orchy. Coaching and River Guides available. The
Tay descent is a 5 day trip, paddleable all year and excellent for
Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award. For information on kayaking courses

Mountain Biking - there
are a huge variety of rides for all abilities around Aberfeldy
both off-road and using Route 7. Bike hire can be arranged locally. |
Road Bike Tours -
excellent half day and whole day circuits. Advice
on suitable routes available.

| Rafting - The Rivers Tay, Tummel,
Orchy and Gary are all used by the local raft companies. |
| Mountain Walking -
30 Munros within an easy drive for summer or winter days on the hill.
Winter mountaineering, hillwalking and ice climbing are all within
reach of us at weem. |
Rock Climbing -
Weem Rock immediately behind the bunkhouse provides all year round
use while Craig y Barns is only a 25 min drive away.
